An Associates degree normally takes two years to earn, going to school full-time. They are normally the highest degree offered at a community college. Some "4-year" colleges also offer associates degrees in limited fields. An Associates degree usually covers a very small area of knowledge.

A Bachelor's degree normally takes four years to earn, going to school full-time. You do not need to get an Associate before getting a Bachelor's degree, but you can. A Bachelor's degree usually has more general education requirements, and goes into more depth in the field of study.

A Master's degree is an advanced degree, taken after the Bachelor's is obtained. Most Master's degree programs take 2 to 3 years of study at the graduate level. An "MBA" (Masters of Business Administration) is one well-known Master's degree.

An associate's degree is typically a 2-year degree obtained at a junior or community college. A bachelor's degree is typically a 4-year degree obtained at a college or university. A master's degree is an advanced degree obtained after the bachelor's degree, typically taking around another 2 years post bachelor's, with somewhere between 30 - 60 credit hours of study. Some master's degree require the completion of a thesis; others do not.

You do not have to complete an associate's degree en route to a bachelor's degree, but you do have to have a bachelor's degree in order to obtain a master's degree.

Associate's Degree = 2 year

Bachelor's Degree = 4 year

Master's Degree = 2 years after receiving your Bachelor's

Most people who get their Bachelor's don't even bother with an Associate's. If you don't want to go to school for a long time, then you can get your Associate's Degree only. You will have more success in finding the job you want if you have at least a Bachelor's Degree, though. You don't have to get your Master's. In most cases it is optional, but it simply gives you a better chance at getting jobs, being promoted, etc. Also, the higher degree you have, the more money you'll make. You can go back anytime and get your Master's after you've received your Bachelor's Degree.

Associate degree: 2 years. can be bypassed by going straight into a bachelor's degree program instead, or can stand on its own and serve as the beginning of the bachelors. Beware transfer credits, though, if you change schools.

Bachelors degree: 4 years. The "industry standard" for many jobs and what many kids start right after high school. (If you're older, you can still do it!)

Master's degree: 2-3 years depending on the program and your previous coursework. Follows the bachelor's degree. You can't get one of these without the bachelors degree first!

Associates generally takes two years...a bachelors takes 4 years...a master takes 6 years.

Usually you go in order. You get an associates first, then work towards your bachelor, and move onto a masters if you want. Then you can get a doctorarite.

I obviously don't have a degree in spelling.
