You're not crazy. I had both during the same birth, if that makes sense. I labored naturally for a long time, and was really sad to have an epidural but I had to because I had early pushing urges and was bruising my cervi by trying to push. Next time I will again try for natural birth. I think it's important to totally 'be there' for your baby. To really experience it completley.

I like you have had it both ways. I the term "natural" is overused, you are still doing the work and you don't get an epidural until you have labored for some time and you do the work when it comes to the pushing. I have long labors so given the choice I think I would choose the epidural but if I were progressing quickly maybe not.

I'd go with the epidural. My daughter was laying on her side in utero and the process to get her "good to go" was excruciating. EXCRUCIATING! After the epidural, it was a much more peaceful experience. There will still be discomfort, but not bad at all. The pain was so severe before the epidural that that was all I could focus on. Afterwards, I wasn't so scared and was able to just roll with the contractions and let her come out.

I've never had an epidural and I would never have one unless there was a medical reason that it was needed. Childbirth is a natural process and if the mother has the right information, preparation and support she CAN get through it without drugs.

I have had both my first was fast and natural my second I had problems and they made me get one both experiacnes where great.I enjoyed the natural or no drugs with my first. but with my second because of the problems I was able to enjoy the birthing experiance more with the ease of drugs.. It all depends on what you have to go through.

I did natural and I plan to do it with my future kids as well. I think experiencing childbirth is like nothing else in the world, and although it hurt, I would NEVER take back doing it natually

I've had a natural birth and I wouldn't have had it any other way. It was a wonderful experience.
