i have problem with my pc when installing Redhat linux-9 no hard disk
driver found message comes how to install Redhat linux-9 in my system
Notes:
* iam using SATA harddisk of 80gb
* MotherBoard-Intel Pentium p4 3.0ghz 915chipset
Please any body help me!

I had a similar problem once with RedHat. I was trying to install it on a laptop. It detected the hard drive and asked me which partitioning application I wanted to use (DiskDruid or fdisk). No matter which one I chose it then told me that it could not detect a hard drive.

Anyhow, what solved my problem was erasing the entire hard drive clean. I used Webroot System Eraser (a nifty little tool that comes with Webroot Window Washer 6.0). RedHat then detected my hard drive and allowed me to use DiskDruid to partition and install the operating system. But I guess this option is no good if you want to keep existing partitions in order to dual boot.

My suggestion is to do one of the following two (and I really can't guarantee that either will definitely work):

Wipe entire hard drive if you want to do a clean install without dual boot. Then try the installation.

Or use a partitioning software to create a separate partition on your hd. Reboot your system with a Win98 emergency boot disc in the drive set to boot. Use fdisk to delete the newly created partition (creating free space). Then use DiskDruid to create your linux and swap partitions in the free space.

hey just open ur cabinet and check whether ur harddisk is properly connected.. jus check whether the cable is plugged in well.. i dont see any other problem
