Yankeefan21 I do not hate you and I don't even hate Fabio, I actually think he can be kind of funny most of the time. And I do not hate Georgie even though hes a Tiger fan.Its a hatred between the teams.Listen up fans of the Yankees and Red Sox, if this very BIG avid diehard fan of the Red Sox can be with someone who has been a Yankee fan since '77 and we don't even fight, then why are we bickering on Yahoo answers.Grow up people!!I wanna know how Pedro and Manny are racist when they both are from the Dominican??Mmmmm..........

I have to agree with being sick of it. I'm a Red Sox fan, have been for life. The problem is that both teams have alot of bandwagon fans who would jump off if either team went through a 4-5 year losing stretch.
Yankees Suck is one of the dumbest chants ever. Let's be creative Sox fans and don't sink to the level that other teams think we will.
As far as the Sox-Yankees Rivalry, Division rivals since the early 1900's. Red Sox were the Elite team in baseball until the sale of Babe Ruth to the Yankees, since then the Yankees won 26 Titles while the Red Sox struggled. Sox fans were very bitter about the best player in Baseball going to the Yankees, Yankee fans encouraged the bitterness, so a feud began.

I really do not hate Yankees fans, I just love to fight and argue with them. They love their team, I love my team and we both know a lot about each other's teams. This combo makes a Yankees fan the best fans to have discussions/arguments about baseball. At Red Sox-Yankees games I have had some very good baseball conversations with the hated Yankees supporters. Overall, we just love to hate each other, because the competition level demands it.

Ya it is okay! i'm a pink Sox, so of direction i choose them to make it, yet I understand why a Yankee fan needs to make certain them in. The playoffs basically are not the comparable with out the Yankees and the pink Sox combating in activity 7 of the ALCS. In 08 i needed that the Yankees made it rather of the Rays, and in 07 i've got self assurance like the Sox highway to a WS could have been greater effective if the Yankees had made it to the ALCS.

There has always been a controversy between the two. It first started when Babe Ruth was traded from the Red Sox to the Yankees.

It is ridiculous. I visited Fenway twice (happened to be playing Oakland both times) 1st time they were chanting "Yankees suck" after the game. During the game, the girl next to me found out I was a New Yorker and stopped conversing with me. The second time at Fenway, this little girl (18 or 19 yrs old) also wouldn't talk to us. We weren't berating the Sox at all. She was a potty mouth anyhow...telling us what she'd like to do to Gabe "the babe" Kapler. Pathetic.

The yankees AND their fans are the most hated group in american sports (internationally, it's British soccer). and the Spankees have to hate someone so they picked the team that is closest to them geographically and competitively, the Dead Sox.
