No, usually not. Some pickups get comparable mileage to the average car and better than an SUV, say in the range of 20-23 mpg, but that's if they are not carrying a load all the time.

Not really. Sure, there may be exceptions, but in general you're talking a larger engine which means less gas mileage for you. Some cars also have large engines... and they won't get nearly the same mileage as those with smaller engines.

None of them do. This is definitely a good time to put gas in a truck. My brother has a Silverado and it cost him $75.00 to fill up his tank. I have a Civic and it cost $29.00. I wouldn't wish a truck on anyone right now.

actually no. I tested this theory with a truck and car with simalar engines. the car did better.
