What is your favorite Twillight's Zone episode and why is it your favorite? Or, what is the worst episode and why is it the worst?
I'm talking about the Twillight's Zone show from the 1960's not the one that ran a couple of years ago and got cancelled right away.

Thanks for such a GREAT question. The waltz down memory lane was just wonderful. Narrowing it down would be SO hard, but I truly loved reading Ray Bradbury, so seeing his "I Sing the Body Electric" on-screen for the first time was great. The irony of Burgess Meredith breaking his glasses at the end of "Time Enough At Last" just broke my heart, since I love reading so much (and need glasses so badly!). Of course, "Nick of Time" -- everyone seems to like all the same one's I do!! It's great to know the classics are just that.

For those of you who would like to "revisit" the whole list, check the link below:

It's a toss up between the Burgess Meredith one where he is the only survivor of a nuclear blast and finally has time to read, but breaks his glasses; and the one where these people are all in a diner, only one of them is an alien; and at the end, you find out who the alien is (he's from Mars), but also that the guy who runs the diner is one too (he's from Venus). There was never a bad episode of the Twilight Zone.

"Time Enough At Last" Burgess Meredith survives nuclear blast, likes to read.
"The Invaders" Agnes Moorehead encounters tiny aliens on rooftop.
"It's A Good Life" Wish it into the cornfield.
"Terror At 10,000 Feet" William Shatner sees monster in tennis shoes tearing up aiplane wing.

Worst? Any of the 1-hour long episodes. CBS wanted to expand the show to an hour, so the producers took their 1/2 hour scripts and padded them with unnecessary scenes and dialogue to make them an hour. (Although, "Printer's Devil" was pretty good. Burgess Meredith plays the devil.)

the only about the doll speaking Tina- i imagine that became The Twilight Zone- perchance The Outer Limits I also loved the only the position the individuals rode the practice round and round, yet saved coming decrease back to an similar station. seems they were abducted by technique of giants and set up like hamsters in a huge field. there is also an effective one the position a guy is going loopy as a try situation for isolation. He starts to believe its actual and he became purely sitting in a cardboard field in a lab. awesome tutor.

"Time Enough at Last"

Burgess Meredith plays a banker who likes to read. He has a nagging wife and a domineering boss. He sneaks into the bank vault at lunch to read. While in the vault, a shockwave renders him unconscious. When he woke up, he discovers that a nuclear bomb has destroyed the earth.

There's more, but I'm not going to tell the ending. You've got to see this! Great ending! Poor guy.

The best episode ever was the one starring Burgess Meredith as a low-level bank employee who is in an underground vault when the A-bombs go off. He is the only survivor, stumbles around in grief, and then finds the hugh public library, mostly intact. I believe it is titled, "And Time Enough..." but I am unsure. It is a classic.

My favorite is "Nick of Time" with William Shatner. He and his new bride are stranded in a small town and rely on a tabletop devil-headed fortune teller machine to rule their destiny. It is the best!

There were no worst ones...the show was ahead of it's time and still brilliant today.

I have three, not in any order. The one about the obsolete man who loses his job as a librarian because books are deemed useless. Fritz Weaver begs Burgis Meredith to let him out, 'in the name of God.' And the useless, obsolete librarian lets him out. The one about the aliens who come and create utopia, when in fact, they are running a ranch and raising food. And the one where the old man drowns along with his coondog, and when the dog wasn't allowed go in, the old man refused too. "Welll.....what kinda Heaven would it be without dogs??"

"Kick the Can" is my favorite. It's a terrific fantasy and so much better than Spielberg's remake. I don't recall a more poignant piece of television. It's sublime.
