My daughter calls me her charcole bunny. She has for a long time and I don't know why. She is 6. But at least 3 times a day she hugs me and says "You are my charcole bunny." I love it.

It is a very Mojo like question.. it's a great 600th one.

Punkin is an alternate pronounciation of pumpkin.

I thought pumpkin mostly referred from parent to child. In that case, I think it is in reference to the jack-o-lantern which has only a few teeth carved out for the face, and children at a young age can be in a similar state of having only a few thing while in between baby teeth and adult teeth.

I would think that when a man uses it toward a woman, he regards her in a child-like fashion, which can sometimes be the case in relationships. Also, it may refer to the sweetness of pumpkins, and so calling someone "pumpkin" means that you think she is sweet. However, I still think "sweet" connotates a sense of innocence, and innocense is associated with being child-like.

Even though it's not the best term of endearment, it's meant in a nice way, and so I wouldn't be offended by it. Well, that's my interpretation of it. :)

P.S. OMG, gyorzxk's answer is so funny! LOL

Congrats......when you hit a thousand let us know.

I call my grandkids (both little girls) pumpkin. It was reserved for the oldest but she is now sweetie and the 3 year old has become the pumpkin now.
No idea why I use these terms,,,,,,just find them very cute and suitable.
Besides, it gets me a big big hug..... :))

Well, I know that the smell of pumpkin is supposed to really increase a mans libido, or they are thinking of breasts? Maybe it has to do with that? I don't hear many women calling men Pumpkin.

Are you out of your gourd? I have been trying to kick the pumpkin habit. I am wearing the patch. So far it has been as easy as pie. Nice question, though, you old pumpkin head you.

I have no idea...but I think I would be insulted if someone called me pumpkin. Are they saying I am round and orange and not worth much and just lay around all day. That's not very endearing. lol..I will take the non-edible descrptions please :-)

I'm going to guess that it's because pumpkins are considered the cutest-looking squashes.

This certainly meets your high quality question standard! I salute you on reaching 600.

Saying "Pumpkin" is easier than saying - You're my sweet little, "Cucurbita maxima"
