In "I'm Gonna Get You, Sucka", Jack Spade said that every hero has to have theme music. So what's yours? I'm talking about that one, self-defining, John Travolta-style (think "Stayin' Alive" from Saturday Night Fever), opening credits, making your grand entrance, theme song.

Mine is P-Control by Prince.

I'd love to say mine is something really tight like Bad to the Bone or Witchy Woman, but my theme song is "It Don't Come Easy" by Ringo Starr. "Ya got to pay your dues if you wanna sing the blues & you know it don't come easy" - That's my life.
Cool question - thanks for asking it!!!

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, Ill say it clear,
Ill state my case, of which Im certain.

Ive lived a life thats full.
Ive traveled each and evry highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, Ive had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, Im sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

Ive loved, Ive laughed and cried.
Ive had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
No, oh no not me,
I did it my way.

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

Triumph from Wu-Tang Clan

especially the first verse...

[Inspectah Deck]
I bomb atomically, Socrates' philosophies
and hypothesis can't define how I be droppin these
mockeries, lyrically perform armed robbery
Flee with the lottery, possibly they spotted me
Battle-scarred shogun, explosion when my pen hits
tremendous, ultra-violet shine blind forensics
I inspect you, through the future see millenium
Killa B's sold fifty gold sixty platinum
Shacklin the masses with drastic rap tactics
Graphic displays melt the steel like blacksmiths
Black Wu jackets queen B's ease the guns in
Rumble with patrolmen, tear gas laced the function
Heads by the score take flight incite a war
Chicks hit the floor, diehard fans demand more
Behold the bold soldier, control the globe slowly
Proceeds to blow swingin swords like Shinobi
Stomp grounds and pound footprints in solid rock
Wu got it locked, performin live on your hottest block

I simply cannot pick ONE song to theme my life. There have to be different theme songs as we go through life or when we are experiencing certain moments. My theme song currently sounds more like the "snow" on TV when you've left it on all night - it's unfortunate, but that's my reality at the moment! All though, I would say when life is good my theme is "rock steady" (aretha franklin). When life is sucking me dry then i would say my theme is "all by myself" (eric carmen version, never mariah or celine). If life is pissing me off and people are obviously being idiots to taunt me then my theme is "machine gun" (the commodores) this helps me think of killing them but with a smile! When there is good, hot, intense snoo-snoo to be made then it's "let's get it on" (marvin gaye).

I suppose it's "Glosolli" by Sigur Ros. It doesn't get heavy till near the end though. I suppose I could also choose "Can't Stop" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers because it reminds me of F/A-18 Hornets being shot off the catapults and over the deck.

"Jump! For your love" off of the Love Actually soundtrack (can't remember the artist right off the bat). Not only do I walk a little taller and smile more when I hear it on my iPod, but I also think of Hugh Grant shakin his booty to it in the movie! It is the ultimate theme song for me!
