liberals want to bring this country down to the level of the rest of the world, while conservatives want to bring the rest of the world up to the level of this country.

Much of the difference appears to exist in definition nowdays, although some genuine people of either persuation would definitely still exist too.

The way I see it is that there are too many super rich people who are being identified by both labels. Both factions have too many "stonecutters" or Freemasons, and groups with related practices that fall under the same umbrella. They thus are members of an organized system of theft.

'Bush Victory Could Foil Occult Plot'

Please note that George W. Bush, John Kerry and Bill Clinton are all members of the 'Skull and Bones' organization.

In the last United States election, many traditional liberals or Democrats indicated that they did not seem to care whether the Democrats won. Why? Why did non-conservative Susan Sarandon give BOTH Dr. Laura and John Kerry a hard time?

Why did Ralph Nader enter the election race? It is my understanding that he is of Lebanese descent and his name 'Nader' is Arabic for "nadir" which is also an English word of Arabic origin, meaning "lowest point", often in a trajectory or in a constellation. It is a term often used in science. Thus, when the election candidates would have been lined up on the ballot, in alphabetical order, the names of the candidates would have run from bad, worse to worst (or lowest). (e.g. Bush, Kerry. Nader)
It was supposed to have been a statement, using a bit of humour.

I think liberals are becoming rather phony, and may just be adopting liberal and inappropriately politically correct causes "in exchange" for what they are taking from the System, which could be too much of the wrong benefits, and acquired the wrong way. It is increasingly difficult to tell both groups apart.

George W. Bush and John Kerry are even said to be related. Of course, the circumstance would not necessarily affect their outlook and world view.

The specific commonality of both is that, for the most part, they follow specific party-line doctrines, often without much thought or investigation on their own parts. An environmentalist puts out ill-researched propaganda about the extinction of a specific animal, and the liberal, acting entirely on good intentions but no thought, raises a protest sign. A conservative leader uses the tactics of fear and prejudice to gets votes, and the conservative followers, easy prey to such things, go right along with it, assuming that the conservatives must be right, because they represent true Americanism.

Neither liberals nor conservatives generally do their own thinking. They believe what they are told without fact finding on their own parts. They create American polarization through taking opinionated stances diametrically opposed to one another. They are firmly convinced they are correct in their views. They almost never accept compromise, which is a true handicap to democracy as a whole. They are, in general, both extremely foolish and childish.

The actual difference isn't that big.
They each have a false, exaggerated perception of the other.

For instance, conservatives think liberals are anti-troops who love Clinton. Nobody loves Clinton and hates the troops. But conservatives think liberals are lying when they explain that. Or possibly, conservatives just don't have listening skills.

On the flip side, liberals think conservatives have an unhealthy fanaticism in their support for Bush, when in reality, conservatives just have an unhealthy fanaticism in their hate of liberals. But that hate they have for liberals comes from false beliefs, as I mentioned in the first paragraph.
So it's like a never-ending circle of chicken-and-the-egg.

During the 2004 election, I had my English 101 class make a list of the issues that each side supports so we could see what their general values were. It worked well for us:
Conservative: pro-life, against expanding social security, against expanding welfare, against expanding social programs, pro-war in Iraq, anti-tax, don't want to reform health care, anti-affirmative action
Liberal: pro-choice, for expanding social programs of all kinds, including social security and welfare; want to raise the minimum wage, want to reform health care, for raising taxes, pro-affirmative action
The conclusions that we drew: Conservatives place more value on the individual: people are in charge of their own lives and their own destinies, and the government has no reason/right to interfere. Liberals have more community-based values; they feel that it's the government and the community's job to help people when it's needed, even if that means giving up land, money, and even jobs in order to help everyone.
The difference is really just a difference about the way we think about society, and once people realize that, we can start getting things done.

It's genetic and it is irreversible.

Much like hair color or eye color people are born Redpublican or Smurf blue.

Read about the studies done at NewYorks Brigham and Women's Hosp. Republican and Democrats were placed in Thermo Imaging CTScaners and given identical stimulation's.

Reds consistently react with anger when faced with a unknown
Blues react with curiosity when given the same stimulus.

Surly you have heard someone say "I vote for the best candidate" This is a blue statement with it;s roots in curiosity. A Red will say I'm sticking to the best party it has always worked. This has a base anger over the why aspect of voting.

My take on this is our collective breeding during late and post baby boomer erra produced more republican children. Our Nation will be more aggressive and be involved in more wars etc.

Will it swing back to a blue side? Maybe in 100 or so years.

Liberals think that more government involment is good, and they want to give money and "help" to the poor. Conseratives think people can do things better on their own, and want less government involment. They also want people to learn to help themselves, rather then relying on support.

Someone told me this along time ago, and it makes sense...
a girl comes home from college, she is complaining that her room mate drinks and parties all the time and gets by with D- in every class. Where as she studies hard and gets A's in every class. She doesn't think the room mate should get to pass the classes. Thats how a conserative feels... a liberal would split the grades down the middle and they would both gets C's.
Hope that helps!

One of my favorite quotes by Ann Coulter "If George W Bush announced that we have found a cure for cancer , conservatives would celebrate while the liberals would march in protest for the poor lab rats we put out of work"
