It's tragic that he doesn't want the government to help fund the research that may cure Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, cancer, diabetes, etc... The embryos they are using for the research are going to be disposed of if they go unused, so why can't we take advantage and start curing these diseases? It was a sad day when he vetoed that bill after six years of passing every single spending bill that came across his desk. Thousands more can die now because he didn't want to help. He just made the top of my "******" list. What is going to happen if one of his daughters were to get cancer? Or if Laura were to get Parkinson's disease? Stem cell research could find something to cure them, but he decided that it was too immoral to continue with it. It's going to be hard for these laboratories to continue to fund their research. I sincerely hope they can do it.

As far the the eggs, they will be destroyed Im sure or stored for eternity. I guess what I dont understand is the big deal about doing the stem cell research is.
There is no money in the cure, only in the medication to get you to the next step. ****, Polio was the last thing they cured and now there is no more $$$$ for it. Drug companies are not in it for the cure, they are in it for the $$$$. Sad to say but really think about it, there is no $$$$ in the cure... :(

GWB made a political choice to pander to the religious right. He was unable to deliver a ban on abortions and this is one of the other things he promised them to get them to vote for him.He sold his soul to them years ago and now they want their pay. so many of these cells will be destroyed, but I guess in their minds it's ok so long as it not abortion or research. I have a good IDEA!!! let all of the women who are anti abortion and the wives of all vocal preachers and men have one of these eggs implanted and then raise the child!! I think since they talk the talk it is time for them to walk the walk. What do you think??

If you poeple think this is such a good thing, you can send all your money you want to a lab. He is the only Pres. who funded this with TAX payer's money and we said that was enough! Stem cell research isn't completely banned. Just the government won't pay for it. Researchers are stuck asking millionaires and billionaires to donate money for it. I just wonder why he wouldn't let people to adult stem cell research

I read in the papers this morning where a clinic is trying to determine just what to do with it all. I personally don't have a solution.
Maybe it will be the responsibility of each research clinic to dispose, I dunno.
