It's a tie and I love them both:

Type O Negative covering Seals and Croft's "Summer Breeze"

Frank Zappa's "Stairway To Heaven" from the live "The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life" double CD

and one I hate

Pat Boone singing Ozzie's "Crazy Train"

That must be the seventh sign of the Apocalypse right there.

I have heard "The lion sleeps tonite" by REM. Its interesting, though I prefer their version of Leonard Cohen's "First We Take Manhattan" -
As to the weirdest cover I have heard it must be "Azucar Moreno's" cover of the Rolling Stones "Paint It Black" Its sort of a Flamenco version of the Stones classic. Interesting is the word to describe it !!

There's Roger Whittaker doing Stariway to Heaven. There's Tom Jones doing Waltzing maltilda (made even odder given the fact it was recorded in front of Frank Zappa).

Inspection 12 covering the Super Mario Bros. Theme songs ("Worlds 1-1.1-2). It's not really as bizarre as it is cool.

The Gourds did a country version of Snoop's "Gin & Juice". That's kind of bizarre.
