Listen.. i did the same thing trying to show my parents that i was free....think about this first is a tattoo something that you really want and will be happy with for the rest of your life??? just think about when you 80 its gonna be all wrinkley and stuff...lol I wish a thousand times over and over i wouldnt of gotten mine but i did i didnt have someone else advise...JUST THINK ABOUT IT FIRST~~

Very intelligent of you to have thought threw a tattoo of meaning, something that will represent your new beginning!
Most people just look at the wall of tattoo shops and throw one on! Nothing original, no meaning, and everyone else may have the same one!
I would highly suggest for your first tattoo to be in a place not visible! Perhaps under neath bikini line!
You can design something yourself or bring in a picture!
Make sure to look at the artist portfolio - Be sure his outlines are crisp/straight. Looking at his shading this makes the tattoo look outstanding rather than thrown on: blah!
Choose your own colors!
P.S. Check the cleanliness of the shop. I suggest not a high tech shop (for show only and expensive). A small shop with someone who's been in the business a long time is best!

Don't get a tattoo for spite or because you are free from an abusive relationship. You get a tattoo because it means something deep in your heart. Something you can tell your grandkids about and not be ashamed. But one tattoo to show freedom is wings. Wings mean you can fly because your are free and also wings of an angel to protect you during abusive times. Again, only if the meaning is deep your heart.

for your wrist... that is tacky! remember that you are only 20, you should try to get it somewhere where in the future when u r older and get a job that it will not make you look like trash!
Keep in mind that tats right now are teh rend! but just like every other trend this 2 will pass!
So seriously i have 15 tats and never one that you can see cause since my 1st one at 15 i always thought about what would i wanna see in bank manager? attorney? nurse ? ya know so think about that!

That's awesome. I think it's cool that you want a tattoo. Don't get it on your lower back, though, despite what some people might say, me and my friend call it the tramp stamp, lol. If you want it on your wrist, get a cool, thin design and make it go all the way around your wrist. You know, like a bracelet. That way, you don't get something stupid like a picture of something or whatever, and you won't regret getting a bracelet tattoo like I said.

That is about what I did when I was 18 and in college. Go to the tattoo parlor and pick out whatever you like. Consider the placement, though, before going in, and know if you want it to be visible all the time to everyone, some of the time to everyone, or private viewing only.

A very popular one, though also very free, is angel wings. If u want to add some stuff, perhaps crooked angel wings breaking out of steel chains, or thru a gate. be imaginativ, and I'm glad u got rid of that **** head!

In my opinion, don't get a tattoo that you don't want to have on your skin in 20 years. How about henna, or a non-permanent tattoo, and a neat t-shirt that shows your freedom and happiness? I feel it is wrong and ugly to mar skin, and get a tattoo. Just my humble opinion. Please congratulate your mom. I once had a man hit me in a previous relationship. Show her your support and love and do things for her.

get a tattoo of a pokemon character, such as pikachu. That shows freedom AND maturity.
