once u have downloaded iTunes u can do a few things:

import cds:
Insert a cd into ur c drive wait for the list to appear and click import. u can import just 1 or 2 songs by unticking the songs u dont want or import the whole cd by just clicking import in the right hand corner, this will put the music straight into ur library, it will let u no when its done.

Purchase music:
Search or browse for ur fav artists and buy a song or album, it'll download and again b put straight into ur library.

Once u have the music u want connect ur iPod with the white cable to the usb in the back of ur computer, iTunes will do the rest, dont disconnect it untill it tells u 2. If nothing happens when u connect ur iPod ur not connected properly check ur wires r in ur iPod and computer fully.
Once uve updated (as i said it'll do it for u) u can buy more or import more and u just need to click on update iPod in the menu in the top and it'll update again
