Because Yankees cannot defeat this year's best won record Detroit Tigers, hope that they will miss the playoff since 1997 this year. Or Boston Red Sox will win the Division East.
Yankees won 26th champions. Most teams wanted to end the dystany of Yankees. Yankees lose two times of World Series. Yankees doesn"t doing too well while they are entered 21st century.

Because they bought their talent. All teams want the best players, but because not every team has the same budget, some have to train their players to become great. The Yankees buy already fantastic players. This gives them an unfair advantage by having so many great players and is why they've won so many World Series. This makes them an empire. And everyone hates an empire.

Because you haven't bought into all the media hype over the years and you're not a slave to tradition (I hope). That probably means you also may not like seeing the Celtics nor the Lakers in the NBA Finals, nor having Notre Dame playing on New Year's Day.
Don't worry - it's healthier for you if you don't want that stuff. It's nice to see that when you watch sports, you apparently don't want the "same old, same old."
