What does your breast size have to do with anything? Do you mean you think they aren't big enough to nurse? Breast size makes NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL when it comes to milk production.

It depends more on how many milk ducts you happen to have than on how big or small your breasts are.

One factor that affects milk production and breastfeeding management is mom’s milk storage capacity. Storage capacity is the amount of milk that the breast can store between feedings. This can vary widely from mom to mom and even between breasts for the same mom. Storage capacity is NOT determined by breast size, although breast size can certainly limit the amount of milk that can be stored. Moms with large or small storage capacities can produce plenty of milk for baby. A mother with a larger milk storage capacity may be able to go longer between feedings without impacting milk supply and baby's growth. A mother with a smaller storage capacity, however, will need to nurse baby more often to satisfy baby’s appetite and maintain milk supply since her breasts will become full (slowing production) more quickly.

Think of storage capacity as a cup - you can easily drink a large amount of water throughout the day using any size of cup - small, medium or large - but if you use a smaller cup it will be refilled more often.

My mother's breasts never got larger than her A cup when she was pregnant and nursing. Just because you have small breasts doesn't mean you can't produce milk.

50lbs for triplets is a modest gain. Most physcians say for a single baby you should gain between 25-35 pounds depending on if you were an average healthy weight. If you weighed less you will have to gain more and if you were overweight then you will not have to gain so much. But considering you are having triplets 50lbs should be fine. Remember you have to add weight for each baby, placenta, fluid, blood volume, etc.

Your breasts will grow during the pregnancy and if you're worried about nursing, don't worry, the milk will come in. Be sure to nurse within the first hour of giving birth if at all possible. Nurse the babies right away. Milk won't come out right away, but something else will (I forget what it's called)- this liquid is very good for the babies and also, the stimulation will encourage your body to produce more milk. The more you nurse them, the more milk your body will produce.

Don't worry about the weight gain either. I have friends who gained that much with just one kid.

There are a lot of great websites out there that will give you good info.

Since there is a good chance that your babies will not be full term, gaining 50 pounds is a good idea. In fact, I've heard that you should gain 20 pounds per baby. The more they weigh when they are born, the better off they will be. As far as breast size, there's no reason you can't breastfeed with any size breast. Good Luck!

you need to eat a sensible diet. and just listen to your body, when it comes to food. For the milk thing and the comment on small breast. Your breast size has nothing to do with the ability to feed one, two or three baby's. it all goes by how much stimulation your breast receive from the baby's. get in touch with the hospital where your going to deliver at, and ask them if they have a lactation specialist. this is a person, who is a specialist at breast feeding. also. I highly recommend getting a TWIN breastfeeding pillow, the reason why is because they are built to hold two baby's. they are more square than the regular boppy pillows. You can check with baby's r us if there is one in your area, they offer baby care classes, and some have lactation specialists there too. good luck with your babies.

It IS possible to exclusively breastfeed triplets. After breastfeeding one I can't imagine where you would have time to shower or eat though LOL. You can probably nurse and supplement with formula...good luck.
