Let me tell you. Freshman year for me was bad....probably because I was super shy. I was uncomfortable in my own skin, and it probably showed. I had a few friends, not a lot. BUT, and this is a big but (lol) it got MUCH better as I progressed. By senior year, I didn't want to leave. My advice would be to get involved in as many activities as you can, that you enjoy. You'll meet people and feel like you are a part of something. Good luck!

It wasn't too bad for me because it was all the same kids I've been in school with since middle school. Our building is pretty easy to navigate so I wasn't too worried there. But I was nervous thinking I'd find a way to screw something up or I'd walk into a senior's class or just do something stupid like that. I didn't & believe it or not I got along with the seniors! (Now the juniors, they were the scary ones) Now if you're in a big school, I would definitely avoid the seniors at all costs (and watch out for those juniors- I'm a junior, hehe!) But don't worry about it too much, just take it all in & enjoy it! It'll fly trust me!

Sigh, don't worry about it. Everyone is the exact same way when they first started highschool. This is how my schedule was: first we had homeroom, that's when the teacher takes your attendance. Then you go to your locker, grab the books that you need for your first class, then go to your classroom. Then the bell should ring again for break, that's when you go and get your books for second class. Then you should have lunch (about an hour). After lunch, go and get your third period class books. And then you get another bell after third period is over, then you grab your fourth period books, and so on and so on. That's what it is like in Canada anyway, but it all depends on your school. That's how my highschool is like anyway.
Good luck! Remember, highschool is usually the best years of your life!

In the beginning I was terrified, the school was so much bigger than my grammar school. Then I went to homeroom, met a bunch of people and had a great four year experience.
You will love high school, try not to be nervous and remember all the freshman are in the same boat as you, they are all starting fresh.

well it definitely matters what type of school ur going to, but for me (last year), even though it was pretty easy, i didnt do a lot of my work, and still got an 87 average. the only advice i can give you is try your best to finish all your work, and absolutely be as outgoing as you can, freshman year definitely sets how people will look at you for the next 4 years.

High school is better than junior high in every possible way, starting with the first year. Granted, you go from being the big kid to being one of the babies, but that doesn't matter that much in high school. Relax, you'll like it. It only gets better from here.

As cliche as it sounds -- be yourself, stand up for what you believe in, and be open to all the different kinds of people around you.
EVERYONE is really insecure.
You will find @$$holes who try to pull other people down to make themselves feel better.
You will find a lot of clever people who are fun to know.
You will find a lot of opportunity for growth (physical, mental, social), so look for new activiites.
Good luck. High school was fun. My favorite years were sophomore & junior years.
