There are some programs out there that allow you to take individual images and "stitch" them into a GIF.
1 - make sure that all the frames are of the same size.
2 - open the editing program (I use Adobe Imageready, but there are free apps out there - search for "free GIF animation applications") and load the separate images.
3 - set the order and the amount of time for each frame.
4 - ALL WAYS preview it. When you are happy with your results "save as" and there you have it.
Remember that the smaller the image, the smaller the file size - but going from small to large results in pixilization and looks horrible. Save the original images at their original size - you can shrink them to fit the animation, but you can't enlarge.
Also - keep animations simple. People hate when it takes longer to download an animation than it's worth. Anyone who wants more information on where to get free animation software can mail me. It's been a hobby for years and I even make a few bucks off it once in a while. I figure spreading freebie info around can't hurt.

Just use Microsoft GIF Animator. It will let you turn a collection of static GIF images into 1 animated GIF image. Best of all, it is free.

In a program like photoshop you can view different layers of a picture. Make a different scene on each layer and then save it to where it doesn't save the layers altogether.
