I have heard of wasps coming in in winter to find warmth. But now it's summer and they keep coming out through the bathroom vent. I dont know where to find the opening and how they would get in. How do I stop them from entering my home without putting paper towels or cling wrap over my vents?!!?! Please help!!!

If you can unscrew the vent, you could put screening over the back of the vent and screw it back in. But that won't solve the real problem, which is where are the wasps coming from. You really need to find where the vent is exhausting out to. There should be some screening at that end that keeps them out which is obviously not working. Worst case scenario, they are nesting inside the vent tubing. You might try getting something like a plumber's snake (for snaking out a toilet) and running it up into your vent to see if you can find where it comes out. Something stiff but flexible like that is what you need. Good luck!!

Wasp Nest In Vent

Ohh I had this very same problem too! They would enter early morning (and afternoon times too) through the bathroom vent and when I would go into the bathroom I would find loads on the bathtub, on the floor half dead and loads flying. They attack too. Weird as they don't really attack outside unless provoked. I thought this was a one time thing but apparently it continued. They were coming from a load of trees nearby. I tried several things but the solution was to get a fine netting and tape it all around the fan from the inside of the bathroom. I have never had any problems since.

does your bathroom direct vent to the outside or into the attic? Sounds like there is a wasps nest very close to the external vent and they have found a way into your house - to stop the entrance you will have to find the next and eradicate it.

Called the Bug exterminator, cause they could be inside the walls.
