Before the World Cup a Paraguayan footballer, Roberto Acuna, was interviewed by a young Swedish journalist during the preparations for the competition.

Later the player had his translator call the girl saying he wanted to see her that night ‘to get to know her better’.

Rather than simply saying no she then reported the case to Fifa and demanded that he be banned from the competition, claiming she felt insulted.

I couldn‘t find out what punishment was eventually given to Acuna but fortunately, as Fifa is led by the famously politically incorrect Sepp Blatter, he was not banned from the competition.

However, it seems that (most) women now not only expect men to do the chasing but they also claim the right to scream ‘sexual harassment’ whenever they don’t find them attractive, rather than simply saying no.

Not all women are like this but this is a symptom of both radical feminism AND puritanism.

Do you know what the specific code of conduct is and what it contains concerning players from that team and media personal ?

Many professional sports teams worldwide have such codes of conduct in place and many of these forbid players from pursuing personal relationships with members of the media, sports writers, advertisers, etc.

Unless you know the whole story never assume.

I'm in complete agreement with you.

To many "groups" want it both ways. They want equal rights, but they want to be treated special as well.

Blacks, Gays, Hispanics, Women.

The only group that doesn't get special rights are white men.

Good question. And frankly a tough one to answer.

She did not see him in a social situation, it was her job to do interviews.

I think, like you did, she just should have said “No thanks”.

But you know, the work relationship makes it more difficult. She should not have to say “no” to every male she has to interview.

This one is kind of squishy that I can see.
