For all those who think that the question was "What was the longest movie ever?" it is not. The longest movie I have ever seen was "The Ten Commandments" which was more than 4 hours long, not sure about the length but definitely more than 4.

I think it was called either The City or NewYork by John Lennon and Yoko Ono - it was 24 hours of a camera fixed on the New York Skyline.

Didn't have a wide release.

The longest movie ... was "Stalker" by Andrej Tarkovskij or
Andrei Tarkovsky ( English spelling ) ... they showed the whole
movie in two days ... Jesus Christ!!! Those Russians ....
the movie was exciting and never boring, but I – sorry – missed
the story ...
