attempt Firefox it would not have any viruses. I truthfully have had a similar subject and downloaded Firefox. It labored fairly good and helped alot. you may attempt it and in case you don't love it in simple terms Uninstall it.

well try to empty the temporary internet files. When i open IE, go to tools and under options u will find "clear history" "delete cookies" "delete files" or may be you have too many toolbars try to uninstall all of them try again

well look on your toolbar (the one that has the big START button on it) and look on the right side of it and you will see icons and the time. well if you have many icons on there then try closing many of them out. sometimes they make your computer slower and thats why its saying its not responding.
