While what you are asking can be done, not sure you need to. Most wireless routers have at least 4 ethernet ports for your wired devices. So just use the wireless router by itself. Otherwise you will need to learn a bit about subnet addressing and configuring static addresses.

why do u need a separate wireless router and a wired router at the same time. Every wireless router comes with 4 ports u can connect 4 PCs. So just setup the wireless router so u will be able to use the desktop and the laptop at the same time

Like others are saying, generally the wireless would have a 4-port switch built into it. But if you have a model that doesn't, then try this:

On the router that's connected to the internet, make sure the Working Mode is set to Gateway (this is the default)

On the other router, set the Working Mode to Router.

I'm not certain that will work, but it might be worth trying.

The router should always come first, then linked to the wireless connections; if you are having problems getting the wireless connections to connect to your router, go to linksys' website and look for the netset program - it's an auto application that will search for your wireless connections for you, so you don't have to do it manually.

Also, double check the type of router and linksys you have - they may not be compatible, which is what is sounds like, thus causing your problem.

Try going from internet (the wall) to your Wireless, then "daisy chain" to your Wired router.

Usually, the wireless router should come first in the ethernet ring.
