"Wet" is one of the terms we use to describe the sensation of touching water or anything in a liquid state. I don't really know why the word "wet" but it's what we've been "brainwashed" to call it.

Because it's liquid. Hmm, but oil is liquid but it feels more like oily then wet. It's still wet, so I guess that's what it is.
