Try a different soap. Try a deodorant soap.

Use a clean wash rag each time. It could be a build up of soap and bacteria on your wash rag making it smell sour.

Some colognes/fragrances can "sour" on people. I can wear anything but "Cachet" it smells "sour" after 5 min.

A good long soak in the bathtub instead of the shower should help too.

It cant be worse after washing can it? Surely you whack loads of soap or shower gel on and get a good lather going and bobs your uncle. Obviously if you are a woman you can get them waxed. And smother yourself in anti-persperant as well rather than deodorant which only masks the smell and doesnt try and reduce the amount you sweat. Oh yes - drink loads of water and steer clear of highly 'fragrant foods' like currys and garlic and that. If you dont rehydrate loads with drinking water the sweat is more concentrated and smells more. et voila - you smell of roses!!

There must be bacteria there that kill some of the odorous bacteria, so when you wash you get rid of some of these good bacteria. But I've found that if I wash my underarms two or three times while taking a shower the odor doesnt come back. I use only Ivory soap- and it works for me.

Depends on where the BO is coming from. If it's the armpits a good rule of thumb to follow is to always buy anti-perspirant. Deodorant masks odor where anti-perspirant actually aids in preventing perspiration. There are many brands that offer an anti-perspirant and deodorant mix all in one.
