I've always felt that our political system that we seem to be stuck with (democrats-on the left) and (republicans-on the right) is the 1 we've all had for years but just doesn't work anymore! There is so much political red tape and negetive talk in Washington that our lawmakers can't get anything done anymore. As far as voting for rich canditates, both sides are rich! Why you ask? Because 1st off their all attorneys and a lot of them come from old money so they were born rich. The bottom line here I think is what kind of morals do these politicians have? An example to me is President John F. Kennedy who was assasinated on Nov. 22, 1963 and who a lot of people in this country thought was not only a tough President but brought the mindset of the U.S. to a comfortable place if you will. He not only stood firm with Russia and told them to turn their misslesships around to go back home or else but he seemed to be very concerned about the middle and lower classes of this country, trying to help them any way he could, The majority of folks in this country liked him because of these facts and also because he was full of humor, personality and seemed to have dedication to the people of the U.S. As far as wealth, he was
from one of the richest families in the country. So if your wondering if a politician being wealthy has much to do with what they believe in or if they'll do a good job for the american people or not, I say no! As with a lot of things in life, it depends on the individual and if their only wanting to be a politician and lie to get into office or a genuine politician who really stands behind everything he tells us. The age old question of "How many politicians are honest" is no different to me than "How many lawyers or doctors are honest". Everyone is raised differently and have had different experiences in life so it really depends on the individual so find out everything you can about a politicion before voting for them. johnnyguit04

Some rich men run for political office because they have enough money to buy what they want and they are bored. Occasionally, you will run into someone who genuinely wants "to give back" but not too often.
I think we vote for so-called rich people because they "have the money to run." This aggravates me but it is something we have to live with in the day of TV. Years ago a candidate had to jump on a train and go to city after city to campaign, now he is pushed off the radar by someone with money enough to buy TV time/ads.

it fairly is the element. Political events are actually not something greater advantageous than a great team of folk from a similar social status. the reason greater people who make 50,000 a 300 and sixty 5 days or much less vote democratic is by using the fact they income greater from the democratic occasion. The get greater jobs, greater perfect wages, and a greater perfect existence. The republican are geared in the direction of the rich. they suspect in case you advantages vast employer and the rich it is going to create greater jobs for people. however the republicans recommendations do not seem to create jobs, in simple terms look on the state of the financial equipment now.

It seems that way, but it takes money to run for office and a poor person would not make it, anyway some these people that you call rich are not rich.

Because we are stupid. The rich people have all the money to do the best Campaign so we have to ignore that ones that can't. We should give more money to help someone that we know is broke, but would make a good president.

Because the people who are being voted into office are already working in politics in one form or another. No one will vote for a guy who works at McDonalds to be president, they're going to vote for someone who is a congressman or a governor, who already has experience with forming public policy, just like you wouldn't hire a preschool teacher to be the CEO of a large corporation. They're not qualified for the job.

Dear friend, in the land of the free and the home of the brave. MONEY + POWER = CONTROL. The people who put your politicians into office are not the general electorate, it is THOSE with enough money and power to influence voters to choose THEIR man, which THEY will tell what to do about what once elected. Bush is a pauper compared to the BIG boys.

the rich have the money to advertise themselves, that and to have the clout with the 2 partys in our country. remember we dont vote for president, we vote for the 2 different choices that the political partys give us to vote on.
