It's in his daughter Mary's (the lesbian) new book. She says that he favors it personally but believes that the decision should be left up to individual states to decide.

So good for him.....except I bet he wouldn't think that way if his daughter wasn't gay.

Personally, I think that the only way anyone's sex life is any of your business, regardless of preferrence, is if you are a part of their sex life. Otherwise, it's nobody's business but their own. In this land of 'freedom' how is it everyone thinks it's ok to stick their noses into everybody else's affairs?

I believe that Cheney has said exactly that on occasion. He, in general, has not been trying to make his opinion known on the matter, because that is not the administration's position. Unfortunately, he is correct, I believe, by not speaking out. As vice president he should be supportive IN PUBLIC of the president's position's, but he is certainly expected to express his views to Bush in private. I agree with you that he wouldn't think that way if it weren't for his daughter.

Maybe he wouldn't think that way if his daughter wasn't gay. How can he say that - he loves his daughter. Obviously you don't have children yet. If you did you would understand what Mr. and Mrs. Cheney are going through.

Well of course he wouldn't think so if his daughter wasn't gay ... he's not by inclination a very forward looking gent ... and why anybody who isn't gay has any opinions at all in the matter beats me ... surely it's up to the people involved how they want to regulate their affairs?
