Astringent is a type of tone. Astringent also means harsh, etc. and you can project that feeling.

The price. They contain the same ingrediants and do the same job. You buy the astringent at a drug store or discount store but toner is bought mainly at the makeup counter (except some astringent packaging is/has been changed to read toner).

A toner is suppose to help the clairity of your skin and usually doubles w/ some type of face wash. An astringent is usually more stronger and basically will work the same way!
With my experience none works better than the other.

a toner tones the skin. a astringent cleans it
u should u a astringent then use the toner after wards

Astringent cleans, the toner will restore your Ph balance to your skin preparing it for your moisturizer. You do not need to use both unless you have bad skin and all your makeup does not come off w/your cleanser. Otherwise all you need it the toner.

a toner will help to minimize your pores and over all tone the texture of your skin. A astringent is something that can reduce oil and to help clear and pprevent acne and blemishes
