One of the most important things I learned when I was on my high school newspaper was that when you are laying out a page, you want the reader to flow through the page and end up on the side of the page that requires them to turn the page--like the way book text is laid out. Natural flow throughout your publication--makes it inviting for the reader to continue on the next page until they have perused your entire publication. :)

I am not an expert but I would say the following are important for a magazine. A good picture for cover and topic title attracters, content page, editor's letter, readers' letters, various articles and features ( depending on what kind of magazine it is and what kind of audience you want), and advertisements. Most of all it needs a good name!

first you need to make sure you have an up - to- date topic. then you need to think of details for it like- when where and who did it or something like that then if you're making a newspaper artice then you need to make sure it's adleast 3 or more paragraphs if it's a magazine - then you need to make sure it has 4 or more paragraphs just to not make it short.DETAIL will help you fill in alot of that space.then you need to ask someone what they think of the TOPIC not the whole paragraph or story. then that's it for my info
