Usually the gauge on the left is the inlet pressure or the amount of pressure the compressor is sending to the pressure regulator. The gauge on the right is the pressure you want to send out of the regulator on the compressor through your hose. You regulate this by turning the knob to the desired pressure which will read on the second gauge. That is all you need to do to get started. Be sure you drain the air out of the tank every night to prevent rust and extend compressor life.
