Wait up tahts like saying that punk has always sucked thats not true. Old school rap is the sh*t okay. Ya nowadays we've got 50cent and stuff and theyre faGGss ok but dont let that quick judgement of yours make a generalization of a whole genre ok . Rap is just different from your metal or country or whatever you listen to. Real rap, not taht commercial clubbing stuff is deep and makes you think and reflect on your life and the way things are going. Try bumping some mos def, talib kweli, common, masta ace, all that stuff will maybe give you some faith in the hip hop culture.

P.S. TURN OFF THAT BET, MTX, VH1, all that crap poisoning the minds of our youths.

Lets get one thing straight. The "rap" you hear on the radio and see on mtv is not really hip hop. Real hip hop has gone underground and Independent—check out the new Jurassic 5 cd for an idea of what i'm talking about. the "rap" music on the radio was never intended to be good music—its intended to make money. The major record labels have a nasty habit of bribing djs and radio stations to play their artists' music...its called "payola" and its completely illegal, yet they continue to do it—so you see, talent doesn't really have any part in the rap music on the radio/tv. People think radio rap is good (like the 50 Cent lovers) because they haven't heard any other kind.

No it isn't a cultural rape...

Rap is apart of the Hip Hop culture...It's a way for poets/emcees to express themselves of the hardships around them, and in their lives by music...

Todays rap isn't at it's best, but....the rap from the "Golden Era"(late 80's, early 90's) is it's best...because there's a lot of lyricism, diversity, and thought provoking records...and they get people hype at the same time...

NO! rap music is the best. especially when most rappers come from hard times. they learn that they can tell people how their life was by rapping it. and STOP HATIN. 50 cent is not making millions for 'raping the culture'

No. The only raping was done by white artists (Elvis, Beatles, Rolling Stones) stealing rock music from black artists (Chuck Berry) . Eminem continues this tradition.

No, its just a different kind of music that some people cant seem to handle. Some people might not like it but it would be boring if there was only one kind of music.

some good, but a lot bad, and unless a person is a total loser, then the bad rap should not influence their choices in life.
