(1) use a liquid facial cleanser without detergent. there are many in every price range. if you wear eye makeup, use a special eye makeup remover only in that area.

also

(2) use a liquid toner, apply with cotton

(3) apply acne gels that contain salycilic acid (I believe Clearasil makes one, I am not sure if "salycilic" is the correct name but it is similar). Avoid "Oxy" products.

(4) do not use fluoridated products, these aggravate acne. Buy toothpaste without fluoride.

(5) do not drink coffee, which contains Cortisol, an inflamatory agent, that makes acne much worse

(6) use a clean pillowcase every night

(7) do not scrub your face with wash cloths or exfoliators

(8) be sure to drink plenty of water daily

(9) be consistent in your facial care routine, do it every morning and every night

Good luck.

I use the Miracle Set (combination to oily) by Mary Kay. The set will give you younger looking skin, fewer lines, improved firmness, and even skin tone. It's very gentle and will not irritate your face. http://www.marykay.com/adina_k/skincare/antiaging/miracleset_combinationtooily/default.aspx

If you're a teen, I recommend Velocity® Facial Cleanser. It deep cleans, tones, refreshes and exfoliates.

Then use Velocity® Lightweight Moisturizer. It softens skin while controlling excess oil on the face. http://www.marykay.com/adina_k/skincare/moisturization/moisturization/10001500/default.aspx

You can also throw in the Blemish Control Toner 3, which is an acne medication that leaves your skin free of excess oil. http://www.marykay.com/adina_k/skincare/classicbasicskincare/10106500/10106500/default.aspx

The last thing is the Acne Treatment Gel. It will dry and clear blemishes, and allows skin to heal without irritation.

Try a Tea Tree oil soap they have it at Trader Joes or "The Body Shop" But make sure you use moisturizer. Most people w/bad or oily skin don't think they need it but you do! Make sure you get one for oily skin and use it every day!

i tryed pro-active and it worked good. the lotion does dry out your'e skin so make sure you get a good moisturizer from them also. i only use the toner, now that i'm more used to it. remember a little goes a long way. you can also buy the less exspensive brand klear action.
