He doesn't believe in federally funded stem cell research because, and I quote, "American taxpayers shouldn't pay for murder."

Then what the hell did we do in Iraq?

35000+ civilian lives lost.

I guess what he meant was taxpayers should only pay for government approved murder.

I'M GEORGE W. BUSH , AND I APPROVED THIS MASSACRE

He doesn't care that it is "Murder" If it can be Privatize and not Federally funded that is the route he wants to go down. If he thought it was really killing baby's then he would pass legislation on baning Private companies in the research. Who do you think will be able to afford the benefits of stem cell research once it is available the Rich and the poor will have to rely still on the medication. It is a win win for the President. Its smart from a Business perspective but highly unethical.

Sometimes I scare myself, lol
I hate having to think like them so I can find out what they are up to. Its like being a profiler

Bush already approved some lines of stem cells for research.

In Iraq, not one civilian was targeted or killed purposely by Americans. The majority of dead civilians in Iraq were killed by terrorists. 35000 civilian lives lost in three years pales in comparison to the 300,000+ killed in Iraq each year by Saddam Hussein's regime.

Well you see his whole basis of right and wrong comes from religion. In Christianity it is okay to infiltrate a region and kill tens of thousands of people(crusades anyone?). Whereas stem cell research is just wrong because it takes the lives of embryos that have souls. Even though those embryos can save millions of lives. He's just using Christianity as his moral compass like it or not. I'd say what the hell maybe we need an extremist Christian to fight extremist Islam.

Crushed Saddam, Planted democracy, Sent a message to the other Muslim dictatorships, kept the terrorist on a middle eastern battlefield and put Iran in between 2 growing democratic nations - is what we did in Iraq. Everything else was collateral damage.

Have you noticed your own contradiction

liberals don't believe in fighting in Iraq because "it hurts civilians"

But they're more than willing to kill the unborn....

I'm not going to argue whether The war is justified....and I won't argue about stem cells or abortion...but using your own logic

YOU have the contradiction

are you a moron?

If you are going to quote the number of civilians lost, I would like you to disect the number of those 'civilians' that were hiding and aiding terrorists.

Now, after that number is cut down to about 5,000. Compare how many civilians saddam killed. lets see, about 250,000 (off the top of my head).

Now, are you telling me that the iraqi people do not value freedom as much as you do? Do you not think they are willing to fight for their freedom like we were? Why don't you want to help them?

If you are going to go off on these stupid little tangents, at least try to say something halfway reasonable.

How about a compromise.

We use stem cells from the dead soldiers.

They're dead anyway!

(Before you get mad at that statement, it is just as logical as George's, and just as flawed)

Not only that, but by vetoing this recent bill many of the embryos that he was try to save may have to be disposed of. Way to go W!
