Would you chose?

Question

Assuming that complete recovery were instantaneous, would you be willing to accept a year of total paralysis below the neck to prevent the otherwise certain extinction of a species of animal?

Interesting question for sure. There would have to be a myriad of condtions. Would I be in a hospital with all expenses paid? Would my family be cared for? Etc., etc.
If it was just "POOF"-wheelchair city and you're on your own..hell no!
If a lot of condtions were met..I'd think about it.
Oh..and if the species of animal were Wookies...NO!
