If you have already been ordered to do so, there probably isn't much you can do, unless your ex gets a new job with higher income...then you could appeal or at least get it reduced. Otherwise, just pay it...it's tax deductible for you anyway.

Get a prenuptial before getting married. If you missed that, die or leave the country. Otherwise you are screwed.
Get her a better job than you have or quit yours.
Get her someone else to marry, then you are off the hook (unless she decides to just live with him, in which case they'll both live on your money).
There you have about all your options.

Don't run away from the law, just grow up, be an adult, and pay alimony.

A good attorney, or quit your job. No such thing as a good attorney, and you'll stave if you quit your job...Hope the former spouse gets remarried...got a "friend" to introduce them, to?
