My 12 years daughter told me "Shut up you Basterd" Just because she was Mad, Now what should I do?

I do not live with my wife and daughter, but I give them everything, I love her very much, She was mad because I told her I would like to call to her School to know how she was doing there, and she told me " Shut up Basterd." That hurt me a lot and now I do not know what to do with her so I need help.

Tell her that's not how you talk to adults especially your father. Since she doesn't live with you it would be hard to punish her. I think you need to talk to your wife and tell her how your daughter is speaking to you. Most likely if you and your wife are having problems your daughter probably heard your wife call you that. Explain to your wife that it is not proper to allow your daughter to use language like that. Other than that I have no other suggestions for you except stop giving them everything they want.

After you are calm, you should sit her down and talk to her about her potty mouth. Let her know that is not a respectable way to speak to anybody much less her father. Ask her what is bothering her, talk to her teachers, counselors, mother and find out what's going on with her. She is at that age, so she has emotions flowing that she probably doesn't know how to handle just yet. I would give her some form of punishment, but not too harsh.

she is picking up bad habits at home and not being taught well. teach her some manners. either in a dissapointed manner tell her that you had not taught her this and that u are very dissapointed in her behaviour. its an act to take her on the guilt trip herseld. if she is intelligent she will change her behaviour. otherwise it is the old whip and cane...

How can you allow your daughter to call you that without getting angry and spanking her? or even punish her one way or other? Be a man, be a dad! If you don't punish or discipline her, she will grow up not respecting you. She will climp on your head and pee on it.

it sounds like she has a lot of anger in her... you should call her school counselor to talk about wether she acts up in school and ask for help finding a therapist for your daughter... there's really noithing you can do alone (with her at her age) to alleviate the situation...

Wash her o mouth out with soap then tell you do not like being talked to that way that you respect her and want to be treated with respect and that you love but you arenot going to tolerate bad language and then when she cusses you out you are going to wash her mouth out with soap.
