If the facts that cats always land on their feet and butter always lands butter side up are true...then if I stick a peice of bread and butter butter side down (butter on the cat's back) and drop the cat from a 2 story house, will the cat land on it's feet? Or will the butter land butter side up, so the cat lands on it's back???

this isn't a riddle, just a question to ponder...

hey chick, bread and butter always lands butter side DOWN, not up...and you're going to have a heck of a time cleaning the butter off you cats back after you drop if off a two story house...not to mention the fact that you'll probably be in jail for animal cruelty...why don't you just make a peanut butter sandwich instead and send the cat to a chinese restaurant???

Cats land on their feet because of their superior reflexes and agility. Toast lands butter-side up because pressing down on the toast with a knife to spread the butter causes an indentation in the bread. With that indentation, the toast falls like a leaf, landing with the concave buttered side up. If you put buttered toast on a cat's back and drop it from a two story building, one, the cat might die or break his legs at that height, and two, the toast would fly off of the cat's back and still land butter side up. And three, cat's don't always land on their feet, and butter doesn't always land butter side up, it is just that the statistical majority says they do, most of the time, but not always.

well thats a good one but as most of us know cats will always land on their feet chances are bread and butter on the back of cat will land 50 percent either way so my guess would be butter will fall facing side up after cat runs off

The cat for sure, because the cat will want the butter to be a safe little boy.

Well, mythbusters had the butter on bread test and it was about even on which side it landed. but to have fun, lets not injure the cat...
