As far as printers go HP are the best to get for the average use and price range... HP scanners aren't too bad either.

Epson - don't buy an all-in-one, look good, but if one part breaks the whole lot is knackered. They usually do a good job at each of the elements, but don't do any one task brilliantly. Unlike buying them individually.

I use Canon printer and scanner and find them very reliable. They also make them combined nowadays.

I have a HP PSC 1510 all-in-one it prints ,scans,& copies and it was'nt too expensive works great
