1993 chevrolet camaro 3.4 l engine timing chain broke while i was driving. are the valves damaged?

Well, the timing chain doesn't brake...the fiber gear fails. I would say no. You can roll the engine over by hand to feel if it's interfering. Take a break-over bar with the socket for the harmonic balance pully and roll the engine over. Good luck. After your additional comments I would say it will be OK. You may be able to get a gear drive upgrade kit cheap through a performance shop and never worry about it again.

The 3.4 chevrolet engine is listed as an "interference engine" meaning the pistons can hit the valves at certain points in the rotation. The chances are great that some of teh valves are bent.

Not sure but I have a 1995 Camaro Convertible that I love but onetime had a head Gasket screw break Check your's just incase. I think they may have been flawed for that year! Hope this helps other Camaro drivers out there!
