use a lip primer, use it on lips, inside and outside your lip line, to extend lipstick wear and prevent lipstick and lip gloss from feathering and bleeding http://www.marykay.com/s_azad/skincare/lipeyecare/10003475/10003475/default.aspx

If your lip color is rubbing off and drying up it is too dry for your skin to begin with. Try a lip liner, fill your entire lip area in with it, then put a moisturizing lipstick or a gloss on top. This will give staying power as well as the moisture it sounds like you need!

I had the same problem before I switched to a long-lasting lipstick. If you want to keep your lipstick I advise you to moisturize with chapstich or balm before applying yoru lipstick. The moisture might induce feathering, though, so you will need to make sure to use a lipliner. However, you can avoid all of this by using a lipstick like Revlon's Colorstay Overtime. You apply color, let the color dry, and then apply gloss over it and the color stays fresh all day. I have it in like six colors. Hope this helps!

I've heard that putting a little of pressed powder on your lips first then applying the lipstick, then applying a clear gloss over the top works best.

the best answer is to buy better quality lipstick, but if u love what u have 1st apply a moisturising lip balm labello works wonders, this prevents drying, then apply your lipstick n top it with a thick lip gloss to lock the colour in.

I use the kind by Covergirl that you put on , let it dry for a minute then put the clear gloss that comes with it on top. It never smears and lasts all day. You just keep the gloss with you and reaply as it wears off but the color stays.

After you do all that stuff the others told you to, follow it up with a lip stick fixative, you can get it at beauty supply stores.

Its a liquid that you brush on and it will seal the color on your lips for hours and hours! Just don't eat anything oily(like salad dressing) or it will come off again!

Try a liner so it doesn't run or rub off and try a long lasting brand such as Revlon Color Stay

well for that prob...buy better quality lipstick :) something that has moisture and a sealent to keep it going strong. To avoid it going onto your teeth, after applying suck on a finger and slowly take it out of your mouth with your lips sealing it tightly (umm like a popcicle...lol)....strange but works...lol :)

Always use foundation on your lips first and then some loose powder with a big fluffy brush, then line your lips and then lipstick.
You'll be suprised how great this works.
