I'm 27 weeks and my doctor husband told my unborn daughter to get out of my stomach last night. He said she'd survive without many problems if she were born now. I told him she needs all of her 9 months. Your baby if born now may have breathing problems but would be very healthy if not a little underweight. Sorry. I do not know what dialated kidneys mean for your little one.

The baby would have a very good chance of surviving if born now, they prefer you to wait until 38 weeks as this is considered full term, but babies can be born at 29 weeks and have good survival rates. Usually if labour starts before 34 weeks they give you an injection of steroids to help strengthen the babies lungs so it doesn't have as much difficulty breathing.
Dilated kidneys in an unborn baby usually indicates a kidney problem which will start to show in the first few weeks/months of the babies life.

Is there a reason that your baby might be born now? I know that there have been babies born at 24 weeks and have had troubles, but turn out ok. The thing that needs to grow and develop the last few weeks of pregnancy is the lungs. Once those are done developing, they produce a chemical which induces labor. So your baby will make her way out when she's ready. Good Luck. I don't know anything about the kidneys. Hope someone else can help.

Sounds like you're having some complications. If so, I'm sorry and I wish you the best. I haven't heard of that kidney condition. There is probably information online about this.
I wanted to answer your question to let you know that my daughter was born at 32 weeks. (I had pre-eclampsia and she had to be born by c-section. Now she is a healthy almost-kindergartener.) At this stage the baby is fully formed and will soon start putting on more weight. Sometimes the concern at this stage is the baby's lungs and eyesight. They are still kind of skinny.
You really need to ask your doctor these questions. They know your situation and can talk to you about treatments and what if scenarios.
All the best to you and your baby.

Chances of survival at 32 weeks are excellent. The baby might have lung, kidney and eyesight problems. Steroids before birth might help buff up the lungs. I hope it doesn't come to that.
I have been reading your past questions. You keep asking the same things again and again. You really need to sit down with your doctor and get ALL of this information. Do not leave untill all of your questions have been answered. Or get the book What To Expect When You're Expecting. It will save you a lot of worry.

The baby would more then likely survive if you gave birth now. But i doubt that happening. Dialated Kidneys I belive are when the kidneys are growing on the outside of the body.

The odds are probably pretty good that she will survive. They like you to carry the baby as long as possible, so there are not any other complications. As for the dialated kidney thing, I have never heard of that, is there a medical term that they used? I have seen lots and lots of miracles come out of a neonatal intensive care unit, too many to mention. Good luck and if you are that worried, please contact your physician. He/She can provide better details on what to expect and so on.

oh 32 weeks is nothing, my wife and I had a 23 weeker (she is 5 now and doing fine) and a 30 weeker. generally you want the baby to be over 28 weeks as the survival is over 80% once you are over 30 weeks they barely need help with oxygen. at 32 Weeks geez thats nothing. I don't know much about dialated kidneys but it sound correctable though drugs. no eye sight issues as the baby will not require much oxygen.

Your baby has a good chance of surviving. A friend delivered her son at 27 weeks, and while he needed medical care during the first few weeks of his life, he is now a happy, normal, mischievous boy.
I haven't heard of dilated kidneys, so I'm afraid I can't help you there.
Good luck, and hope everything turns out great for you and your child.

My nephew was born at 28 weeks. He weighed 11/2 lb.He was 12 inches long. There was nothing wrong with him.He just had to stay in the hospital till he was big enough to come home.Chances of the baby surviving are excellent.Technology has come a long way.
