I am trying to decide which job I should take right now. A full time one that pays well or a part time one that also pays pretty good. I am taking some time off from school right now, I already did about a year of college, but I am trying to decide what to do. I am in so much debt right now that I feel I need to work to pay it off. I could take online classes if I work full time or take some classes if I work part time. What should I do?

If you really are in that much debt (I am too), you should really think about the full time job. You can still take online classes at night. I worked full time all the way thru college, and even though it takes a little longer, you can still do it. Good luck!

Do you need benefits? Part time jobs usually don't have any.

Also, if you're taking time off from school, now might be a good time to go with the full-time job. You are right, you can take online classes, and the ones with community colleges usually don't cost much (if you have some of your GE's left to take, that is a good way to do it).

Most importantly, take the job that would be most fulfilling for you. If it's possible to do a job that you enjoy, go for it!

Full time SCHOOL, part time JOB. In the long run, you will be better off by finishing school because it will allow you to get a better job and earn more later. See if you can find a way to consolidate your debt into a lower monthly payment. And if possible, get it on 0% interest (just be sure you know the full terms of doing this).

So, Consolidate your debt, Put yourself on a budget, and get back to School!!!

that is a personal decision. you have to ask yourself some questions...is the full time job doing something you want to do? is there room for advancement? would you hate yourself if you weren't able to finish school for a while? can you take care of the debt little by little?
when i finished high school i was working 3 jobs. i said as soon as i had $ saved up i would go to school...now 6 years and 3 kids later i don't have the time the money or the energy to go to school!i kick myself everyday for not knowing or researching grants or student loans at the time.

If your debt is the problem, work full time. But please make sure that you do online classes. Because, trust me, once you get out of the habit of going to school, it's very hard to go back. Also, try to cut your spending & work on ways to keep you from building debt as much as possible.

I am an advocate for online classes. They have the exact same curriculum as a classroom setting. I'm getting my degree online. But they arent for everyone. You have to be very disciplined and focused to do them.
