Well I live in the state of Queensland in Australia. Unfortunately racism/discrimination is everywhere, but people over here give you a chance. It doesn't matter if your white, black, asian, middle easterns or wateva, just show a little respect to everyone. Racism is ignorance! You will enjoy aussie and our lifestyle, I did thats why Im still here! Good luck with your adventures!!!!

I've never been to Australia, but I live abroad and have a lot of Australian friends. I don't think it is any worse in Australia than anywhere else in the world, and it exists everywhere!!!!!! I think in Australia, most people are not going to judge you first by your outward characteristics. I think if you are open and friendly, they will be receptive. If you are hostile and threatening, or spouting anti-Australian sentiment in a large group of your own race, they might be hostile in return. I wouldn't let it stop me from visiting Australia. I think it can't be any worse than it is in the US. (In Australia, I mean. I know it can be worse than in the US in other countries. My husband is African and we live in China. You wouldn't believe the things people here will say, and my husband speaks perfect Madarin, so he understands everything.)
