Hot water and Dishsoap.

The hot water will melt the Vaseline, and the dishsoap will break the petroleum jelly down.

Once you've washed it down... head to your local car-wash afterwards, and get the cheapest wash you can... it will get into the nooks and crannies that the vaseline has oozed into.

Good Luck!

I don't think the paint will he harmed with those two ingredients on your car. I'd go to the auto department somewhere and buy a big roll of gauze or a bag or rags and start wiping the stuff off. Then I'd run it through a car wash. Good Luck. When my son was in high school, someone put sugar in his gas tank and threw latex paint all over the car. We had the car towed and got the gas tank drained and cleaned and the paint washed off with warm soapy water and a strong hose.

Make up a bucket of suds using a non-bleach and lanolin less safe soap like Dawn or Joy. (The bleach can cause finish damage and the lanolin is basically a naturally occurring oil..won't do much good on slimy vaseline) Make it frickin' HOT dude. As hot as your hands can handle. And then just scrub, rinse, repeat. (I hate to sound like a frickin' shampoo commercial..but it is what it is) Do that until you can rub your finger across the area and hear that "SQUEAK!!" of clean. Then..roll the whole mess to the car wash..or do it in your yard if your so inclined and give the whole ride a cleaning. And then..and this is important...a decent wax job as you might have taken it down to the clear coat cleaning and you wanna get that protection back on there.
Oh..and then start in on a case of Mike's Hard Lemonade..when you're on the downhill side of the 24..go over and lay a beating into the dickweed that did this. Hit him once for me too..my fingers are tired!

Hot water and soap will remove the mess, but will also remove any wax that you have on the vehicle. After you clean the mess caused by the vandals (I personally do not consider this to be a funny prank, but rather a criminal act) you will want to apply a good coat of wax to the vehicle.

You could also take the car to a detail shop, and have the cleaning and wax done there.

dats funny. but go to a car retailer to find soap for car. dish soap is not the right kind of soap to use and may damage the paint. a lot of car soap and water to wash it away. it may take 2 or 3 washes to get it out cuz of the vaseline.

You should be able to wash it off with some dish soap and a high pressure hose at the car wash. Good luck.

uuuug. windex will cut the grease without ruining your paint, you can get a gallon jug from homedepot. use and old towel or rag, not paper towels, and just keep wasing til its all gone. also, you could get the first layer off safely with ordinary dish soap.
