Knowing they are nothing like what they said. I met a off of the internet once and the picture she had emailed me was 5 years and 80 pounds ago. Why must you people lie about what you look like and who you are?

I look exactly like the pictures I have online, but I know what you mean. I had a guy friend do that to me once. He was a lot heavier and a lot balder than the picture he sent me. He still uses the same picture, to this day, to show people what he looks like and it's SO innaccurate that it's not even slightly funny. I guess people do it to reel you in b/c they're insecure about the way they look, but that's stupid. I'd rather find someone that likes me based on what I REALLY look like, not what I think they want me to look like, only to disappoint them later on.

I think they do it for a few reasons. They do it just for attention and figure they will never actually meet you in person. They may also do it and think they can magically lose the weight very quickly before they meet you OR they do it and figure you may be lying as well and that when you meet in person that you already like/love them so much that it doesn't matter. It is sad people can't just be who they are.

Maybe she was so incredibly delusional she honestly hadn't realized she'd changed so much.
A year ago I started doing weights + Cardio training and it was only recently when looking back at photos from before I began exercising that I realized what an unhealthy fatty I'd become.

The thought is valid and real. Internet is a whacko world, a crazy dimension. So whenever you meet anyone online have that in mind.

Because on the internet you can be anyone you want, regardless of looks, gender, etc.
That's why I don't meet people on the internet. It's not safe.
Some people get married to people who meet on the internet.
What kind of loser finds their spouse on the net?

maybe they rnt jus comfortable w/ themselves and then on the internet they can be whoever they want w/o anybody else knowing.
