R D Survey says that Indians are rude but I have bitter experiences with American and British peoples.
Once alighting from the plane at Heathrow London my arm smoothly touched to the arm of a British passenger. He simply stare at me, Twist his arm and speak funny twice.
During my trip to Seoul Korea I was in a que for local railway ticket and one American Scholar wes standing before me. Due to peak hours hurry in the morning I lean through to window for ticket and the American shouted loudly give me space, give me space to breath. There was sufficient space in between us still he was shouting.
By reading the opinion poll and survey by R.D. I can say that Indians are not rude but others are short tempered..

Don't listen to them. None of them is an Indian!
The Indian resolve and good manners are World famous! We are proud to be Indians and this is our 'India'ism' that irks people bec of which they are rude. It is an innate (inborn) fear in all those examples that you quote above. Yet the Indian is a very very strong person. Have the trust and pride to be an Indian and look the World shall be at your command! Btw did you know that Indians are the second happiest people in the World!

There is a way certain Indian people ask questions. I'm Inidian and from India and now I live in U.S for a while and I have noticed this.
Americans(most) say: May I take a look at....blah blah
Some Indians say: Let me see that
Americans (most) say: Can i please have 1..this and that
Indians (some): I want 1 of this..
So, it's the way some talk..but Inidians are some of the nicest people in the world. But, yea.

I'm from NYC and used to work in Macy's in Queens. The store is located in the Indian neighborhood. Most Indians that I've encountered were very rude, especially males. Before that I thought that Indians were just like any other people, good and bad, it's like this everywhere, however, now, I know that most of them are very rude. I'm talking about Indians from India, not American Indians.

I'm indian and you can't just take their entire population and be a stereotype. Lets look at the big picture. We are all people and there are rude ones and nice ones. Same story with indians.

Anytime you use stereotyping you can find some that fit the mold and some that contradict it.
Are all women emotional and men logical
Does all British food suck
and I'm sure we can all think of a few more instances of stereotyping, but anytime you say are all anything something you can find examples that seem true and some that prove it wrong

No, not all of one race is rude. Some people within a race are rude, but not everyone.

in my experience indians can be over assertive and this can be considered rude. you are basing your judgement on a small number of cases. I know many indian shopkeepers in uk who never say please or thank you
