Count herself lucky!

Seriously though, 13 is not "too old"! Some people don't start until they're 16. She has nothing to worry about :)

At 13 she has nothing to worry about. I was 14 when I got mine. Some girls just develop later. Usually a girl will start to develop breast buds first, and then get their period about a year later. Menstruation can start as early as 8 or as late as 19! The average is actually about 15.
Just let her know that there is nothing wrong with her, and it will happen!

Nothing. It is totally normal. Girls can start as early as 10 and as late as 16. I started at 11 and my best friend didn't start until age 16 so it's not a big deal. She should enjoy not having a period while it lasts.....it's not exactly the most fun in the world.

Different girls get their periods at different times. I am 13 too and I don't have mine either. I am very athletic and a lot of doctors and health specialists say that girls that are more active will get their period later in life like it could come when they are 15 but the girls that are less active tend to get their periods earlier! Hope I helped you and your friend.

Just wait. Your period can come from the age of 9-16. If you do not get it when you are 16. Go see a doctor then.

She can wait as some girls are just "late bloomers". If she is seriously concerned, she needs to ask her parent/parents to take her to the doctor. Not to alarm anyone, but a friend of mine never started her period and her mother never took her to the doctor to see why. A couple of years back, she got married and she and her husband wanted children (she's now 31) and she went to see a gynecologist and found out she was born without a uterus and ovaries...sad. But don't worry, when you do get your period, you will hate it! LOL

Nothing. Every body matures at a different time. Some girls don't start menstruation until they are 20. I know this is a sign of growing up, but it really doesn't mean much except your body is prepared to have children.
Maturity comes with experience. Tell your friend to focus on being a good person and learning all she can. You should too.

Wait a little longer. Some people start late. If she turns 14 and still doesn't have her period, suggest that she see a doctor about it.

The age to get ur period is from 9-16. I have a friend who developed early and got it at 9 and my other friend only got it at 16 so dont worry, its absaloutly normal. However, if she doesnt get it by age 16 she should see a doctor.

Enjoy freedom while it lasts. Tell her not to be worried, my sister was 14 when she got hers, 10-16 is the normal age. If she's got all the other signs (boobs, hair etc) not to worry. I'm 13 and theres girls my age in school that havent started yet.
