What was your favorite class in college and why?

I took an honors philosophy/literature course at a local Community college based on the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert Persig.

We explored world religions and philosophies ranging from Socrates and Plato to Modern Zen Buddhism. We even took a field trip to a Zen Buddhist temple and learned to meditate.

The entire class was a positively mind-expanding experience that was as much about looking out at the world around me as it was looking inside myself to see who I am. It was challenging and deeply rewarding. If you can't take the class, read the book!

A class called Change & Tradition ... it was a required class which basically taught about different cultures. I had a very challenging teacher, which helped me to learn a lot. And it was fascinating to learn about Greek, Chinese, English & African culture.

I also enjoyed my Comparative Religion class because it helped me explore the other religious options that are out there, so that I can understand what others believe. It also brought me to firm religious convictions of my own.

My favorite class was History because I learned how the U. S. was formed and I can now learn from the mistakes that were made, but also I can celebrate the people who gave their lives in order for me to have what I have today.

Mine was history; history in itself is fun to learn, the class is pretty much taught straight out of a text book, and memorization of timelines was all that matter when given essay tests; you just refer back to the timeline you memorized (because in most cases, the professor gave us a list of timeframes we were going to be tested on, usually no more than 3, so I'd memorize the timelines from those 3 eras and elaborate).

I really liked Intro to Sociology & Anthropology, mainly because all of that information was so new to me. It didn't hurt that the professor started one class playing his guitar, as an experiment in sociology and then later invited us to a gig of his at a local restaurant. Very cool stuff.

Digital Networks. Why? Because the teacher was the Department Chair and it was insanely hard. If you didn't come to class prepared, you would probably be all but insulted. I've never been so proud of a "B" in all my life.

English Lit would be my first choice followed by American History as my second. I am such a bust at Math. I still to this day hate Math. Enjoyed Business Law. Sociology was slightly boring but aced it.
