I am sad that the hockey players at my local rink are always standing by the boards and laughing at the figure skaters because this happens all the time like hockey players 8 and up and there coaches stand by the boards and just laugh at little kids and like national champions and at first i was mad and now im just so desperate for them to stop so like does any one now how to make them stop?

It happens in almost all sports. Softball players get teased by baseball players and we get them right back (most testosterone-pumped teenagers can't hit a decent fastpitch pitcher-- we never let the guys forget that!) Even with the soccer league I play in-- the girls and the guys practice together with the same coach-- there is some prejudice between the males and the females. Other "tougher" girls sports like basketball and volleyball and softball are often condescending to cheerleaders and dancers. I personally know an awesome dancer who also is incredibly fit from her dance and she kicks my butt in soccer and swimming. I'm not as familiar with hockey and figure skating, but I know that hockey is a tough and grueling sport. Figure skating is equally tough in different ways, like dance.

So don't get too upset, because it is everywhere. Laugh back at the hockey players and ask them if they can do some special move of yours that their bulked up, inflexible bodies can't even attempt.

The hockey player's coaches should be telling their players to respect other people who use the rink. They should save their trash talk for their opponents. When I was in minor hockey our coaches always reminded us we don't own the rink, and not to disgrace our team. Take it up with the league.
