its actually located on the driver's compartment, some mechanics call it a sphincter valve. It's necessary to use a left handed metric Phillips screw driver to remove the cover and check the fluid...there isn't a dipstick so you have to use your finger...when you pull you finger out and there is anything on it, you'll need to get a bucket of steam and dump it in there to clean it. put the cover back on and you'll be OK.
