Things happen... but really the more recent problems have been because people don't understand their limits on rides... They don't realize that their bodies cannot handle the rides! I read a book on Disneyland and there was a chapter about a lot of deaths at Disneyland. Well, most of the deaths were because of the riders stupidity. One death was a little boy that was holding a stuffed animal on Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin, well he dropped it and was reaching out of the car trying to get it when he fell and his head got stuck under the car! How dumb is that? The parent should have grabbed him! Other deaths were college kids that were being stupid and tried to jump from one car to the other on the people movers... Well they wouldn't realize how far apart the cars were and they would miss and get ground up in the gears! One other man hung onto the monorail rail and he got hit by the monorail! I mean these are all so silly! I think the deaths that are "disney responsible" are VERY few and far between! I agree with the other answerer that Disney has a very high saftey rate!

I think there have been 2 cases in the past year or so. One on Mission Space at Epcot, the other on a roller coaster at MGM. In both of these cases, autopsies proved that the victims had unknown heart conditions.

Truth is, Disney has the best safety record of any amusement park operator.

There are thousands and thousands of people who go to both parks every day of the year. If you take a group of thousands and thousands of people from any segment of the population (i.e. people in Grand Rapids, MI... people who work at State Farm Insurance... people riding the subway) you are going to find the same thing. Someone is going to collapse, someone is going to have a heart attack, someone is going to die and so on.
